Frequently Asked Questions
What does this application do?
Displart helps artists build and manage a portfolio website from a single workspace. You can add artworks, upload images, publish News and Blog posts, and organise your content. Then choose a website design and publish your portfolio online. Unlike with general-purpose website builders, you do not need to manage individual web pages. Displart automatically transforms your portfolio content into an attractive website.
Who is this platform best suited for?
Displart is designed for artists and other creative professionals who want portfolio management and a specialised website builder in one place. It is particularly useful if you want to manage your artwork catalogue, biography, website design, and multilingual content without relying on a general-purpose website builder or design agency.
Displart also offers a multi-artist mode for galleries, art collectives, shared studios, group exhibitions, and other creative organisations.
Can I use it as a private database of my works?
Yes. You can keep your artworks private and use Displart as a personal database for documenting, organising, and managing your work. You can access your portfolio from anywhere and publish it whenever you are ready.
Do I need coding skills to use it?
No. Displart provides straightforward forms and guided pages for managing your portfolio content. It automatically transforms that content into an attractive website using your chosen template, so you do not need to write code or manage technical web design details. Because your content is stored separately from the design, you can switch templates without the formatting problems often encountered with general-purpose website builders.
How much does it cost?
Displart includes a free plan, so you can try the service and decide whether it meets your needs. The free plan supports up to 10 artworks. If you need a larger portfolio, you can choose a paid plan with a higher artwork limit. See the pricing section for current plan options.
Can I publish my portfolio in more than one language?
Yes. Multilingual support is one of Displart's main strengths. When you create your portfolio, you choose a main language for original content such as your biography and artwork descriptions. You can then add other languages and translate the content yourself or use our AI-assisted tools to generate translations for your review. Displart currently supports English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, and Japanese. Additional languages may be introduced in the future, depending on demand.
Can I sell my artworks online?
Not directly through the platform. You can display a price for an artwork and indicate whether it is available for sale. Interested visitors can then contact you through your website, allowing you to arrange payment, delivery, or collection directly with them.
How do I add artworks?
In your workspace, you can create an artwork record containing details such as its title, artist, description, production date, medium, and visibility. You can also upload one or more images of each artwork for display on your website.
Can I keep some artworks private?
Yes. You control the visibility of each artwork, so you can decide which works appear on your public website and which remain private.
What is the public profile for?
The public profile introduces you or your organisation to website visitors. It can include a tagline, biography or profile description, profile image, social media links, and other public information.
Can I change the design of my website later?
Yes. Displart supports multiple website templates, and your content is stored separately from the design. You can therefore try different templates without rebuilding your artwork catalogue or rewriting your content. Each template also includes a selection of colour palettes, making it easy to experiment until you find a design that suits your work.
What does website status mean?
Website status determines what visitors can see. Your website can be:
- Published: your public portfolio is available to visitors.
- Under construction: visitors see a temporary holding page while you prepare your content.
- Offline: the public website is not available. This is particularly useful if you want to use Displart solely for portfolio management.
Does Displart help with writing artwork text?
Yes. Displart includes AI-assisted tools that can generate or improve artwork descriptions and help with translations. These tools can save time, but you should always review the results to ensure they describe your work accurately and reflect your voice.
Can I buy a custom domain?
Displart is designed to support custom-domain services. Domain registration and setup may involve third-party providers, and availability can depend on your plan and service configuration. Contact the support team through your Portfolio Manager for details.
Can I contact support if I get stuck?
Yes. If you have an account, you can use the support form in your Portfolio Manager to report a problem, ask a question, or send a suggestion.
Subscriptions and renewals
How do I update my payment method?
Open the Subscriptions page and select Manage on your current paid plan. In the pop-up window, choose Manage Payment Method. You will be taken to a secure page hosted by Stripe, where you can add or update the payment method used for future renewals.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Subscriptions page, select Manage on your current plan, and set renewal to No. Your plan will remain active until the end of the current paid period, and you will not be charged for another period.
How can I downgrade my plan?
If a lower plan is available for your portfolio, you will see a Downgrade button on that plan. After you confirm the change, your current plan will remain active until the end of the paid period. The lower plan will begin when the next subscription period starts.
What happens to the unused part of my current plan if I upgrade?
When you upgrade, we calculate the unused value of the time remaining in your current paid period. This credit is applied proportionally to the first period of the upgraded plan, so you pay only the amount due at the time of the upgrade.
Why are some plans marked Not Available?
A plan may be unavailable for several reasons. The most common is its artwork limit: you cannot move to a plan that supports fewer artworks than your portfolio currently contains. A plan may also be unavailable if your current subscription already has a cancellation or downgrade scheduled. To choose a different plan, select Manage on your current plan and cancel the scheduled change first. You can then select any eligible upgrade or downgrade.
How can I remove the “Powered by displart.com” link from the footer?
The footer credit is shown only on free plans. It is removed automatically when you move to a paid plan, so no separate setting is needed.
